LA Ash, Inc. makes its move in the logistics arena by purchasing a deep water barging facility in Port Arthur, Texas. Along with a recently signed agreement with the established Dupre’ Trucking Company, LA Ash is prepared to meet high demand for product. The purchase is part of LA Ash’s plan to advance nationwide logistics. “This facility gives us a complete logistics package for delivering goods to our customers,” said Tommy Stewart, LA Ash Senior Sales Manager. The facility is available for lease to companies for movement and storage of dry bulk (except food products). It is located just North of the Inter- coastal Canal, can handle ocean-going, gulf, or river barges and features 285 feet of bulkhead. A 110,000 square-foot covered storage facility is located on the 12-acre property along with two portable surge-hoppers and portable conveyors that move product at about 700 tons per hour.
