LA Ash, Inc. is the world's largest marketer of coke fired CFB fly ash and bed ash. LA Ash also markets fly ash from coal-fired CFB steam generators from various facilities.
For a description of petcoke, their uses as a fuel, the types of residue that remain after combusting it in a CFB steam generator, and the beneficial uses of these products, please visit our technical support area.
LA Ash markets the fly and bed ash products that remain after combusting the petcoke limestone in CFB steam generators under the names OPF70, OPF90 and OPF42. The former is the raw, unmodified petcoke combustion residue and the latter is a synthetic aggregate produced from the complete processing and milling of the residue.
Our success is not luck. LA Ash understands CFB products. Over ten years of testing and use have taught us the characteristics of these very unique products.
These are only a few of the many processes for which CFB fly ash and bed ash can be used.
-
Reduce the plasticity index of clayey soil
-
Neutralize acidic waste
-
Stabilize hazardous compounds
-
Solidify sludge and saturated soils
-
A base course for paved surfaces
-
A surface layer for unpaved surfaces
-
In some cases, as an alternative to Portland cement for soil stabilization
Ten years of research and development have produced data to document that CFB byproducts perform as well as or better than traditional materials. And by using these products, businesses are being good environmental stewards by returning byproducts to the manufacturing process rather than to the environment.
